Parts one and two of the six-part comprehensive guide are now available here for free, offering 45 pages of comprehensive information. The guide covers the immediate priorities to be considered at the start of any investigation, guidelines for developing governance and decision-making strategies and tips for selecting an investigative team.
The guide also contains four example documents that provide immediate help for anyone carrying out an internal investigation, including a non-disclosure agreement, a document hold notice, a scoping document and an investigation plan.
“We realized that there was no comprehensive solution that gave practical guidance on internal investigations, so we set out to provide the best possible resource we could,” said Hastie. “We believe the guide will help investigators navigate through the myriad, complex issues that frequently arise.”
“There is no regulatory blueprint for what is accepted internal investigation practice. This puts firms at a disadvantage with their regulators and so we wanted to redress the balance. This is our attempt to write that blueprint,” said McQuitty.
The launch of the guide comes following the recent merger of Clutch Group with Morae Legal to create Morae Global, a legal and compliance powerhouse, as well as the appointment of James Neath, former BP Global Head of Litigation, as President of Clutch.
